Week Starting 30th March 2026

This week falls in a quiet window between the Imagine! Belfast Festival of Ideas & Politics (which wraps up 29 March and included several strong climate and food resilience events) and the next wave of sustainability programming in mid-April.

Wednesday, 1 April

Wildlife Wellbeing Walks Hosted by Belfast City Council Various times | Various Belfast parks

Launching this week and running every Wednesday through 24 June, these guided walks pair council outreach teams with local environmental experts to help residents explore the ecology and wildlife of Belfast’s green spaces. Check the Belfast City Council events page for specific park locations and times each week. First one is on 1st April at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park. Free

Thursday, 2 April

Late Night Art Hosted by various Belfast galleries 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Various art galleries across Belfast

The first Thursday of every month, Belfast galleries open their doors for evening visits. While not exclusively sustainability-themed, several galleries regularly feature work engaging with environmental and climate topics — worth a look if you’re already out. Free

RSPB Rathlin Seabird Centre — Volunteer Season Opens Hosted by RSPB Northern Ireland Rathlin Island, off the Antrim coast

The RSPB’s residential volunteering programme at the Rathlin Seabird Centre begins on 30 March. Volunteers help visitors learn about the island’s internationally important seabird colonies — puffins, razorbills, guillemots and more. Applications seem to be closed, but something to keep in mind for next year!
